Oda TV News Editor Barış Terkoğlu, covered a child abuse story of a 17 year old who was a member of “Alperen Ocakları” (a far-right youth organization related to the Great Unity Party), which was published on 15 November 2018. Within few hours Elazığ 1st Peace Criminal Judgeship ordered an access ban to the article. Further, a lawsuit was filed against the journalist for “breaching the confidentiality of investigation”. On 30 January 2020, Istanbul Anatolian 16 Assize Criminal Court found him guilty on this charge and sentenced to 6080 TL judicial fine.
