The Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) has announced that access to Odatv news website has been blocked from Turkey due to the news covering the story of a National Inteligence Agency member’s funeral who lost her/his life in Libya, following the arrest of its news editor Barış Terkoğlu and reporter Hülya Kılınç. BTK announced that the administrative decision is based on Law No 5651 and was issued on 5 March 2020.
Prof. Dr. Yaman Akdeniz stated that the İstanbul 3rd Criminal Peace Judgeship has ordered access block to the link of the related news, however, BTK blocked access to all content of the website.
