Having 130 news reports blocked to access on July 29, President and AKP Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s former lawyer Mustafa Doğan İnal had an access block imposed on 48 more news reports about himself. Applying to the İstanbul Anadolu 9th Criminal Judgeship of Peace, İnal requested an access block to the news and publications about himself. The judgeship ruled for an access block to 48 news reports and publications on the grounds that the links indicated in the petition “were concerning the file of investigation, the other content contained allegations and violated personality rights.”

An access block was imposed on bianet’s news report “Erdoğan’s former lawyer wanted it, an access block was imposed on 130 news reports” and its news report about the lawsuit against bianet’s former Editor-in-Chief Nazan Özcan. The censored articles were published on the following outlets: BirGün, Gazete Duvar, t24.com.tr, Bold Medya, Ahval, Kronos, Tükenmez Haber, Cumhuriyet, İleri Haber, Gaziantep Pusula, toplumsal.com.tr, Kısa Dalga, Gerçek Gazete, Pencere TV, KRT, Gerçek Gündem and haber.sol.org.tr (August 16).
