A lawsuit was filed against cartoonist Nuri Kurtçebe by the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office of Fethiye due to his social media posts shared on August 9, 2017 on the grounds that he has allegedly insulted the former Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, Chair of the Nationalist Movement Party, Devlet Bahçeli, and the Republican People’s Party, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. The indictment was dated 9 December 2019 and Kurtcebe faces up to 2 years and 4 months in prison.
