Journalist Hatice Kamer was indicted for posting the pictures that she took while covering the congresses and statements of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) five years ago. The indictment issued against the journalist over these social media posts was accepted by the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court. Kamer was acquitted in this trial. As the appeals court overturned her ruling of acquittal, the trial will start again. The first hearing of the journalist will be held on February 9, 2021 (February 8).
At the first hearing of the retrial held on February 9, the prosecutor announced the opinion as to the accusations and demanded the acquittal of Hatice Kamer. Kamer has been acquitted again (February 9).
