Nurcan Baysal was requested to give statement on an investigation launched against her for allegedly “provoking public to hatred, hostility or threat”, through letters she shared which were written by prisoners from Diyarbakır Prison and her articles published on Ahval news portal. She also stated that she would have been taken into custody, if the corona pandemic did not constitute such a threat. Journalist was released after giving her statement, on March 31.
