The first hearing of journalist Beritan Canözer’s trial was held on 20 March 2019 at the 9th High Criminal Court of Diyarbakır. Canözer is standing trial for the charge of “membership in a terrorist organisation [PKK]”. The prosecution requested 15 years of imprisonment.

At the last hearing held on October 16 the court acquitted Canözer.
