The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) ruled for a 3-day blackout on TELE1 by a majority of votes. As the reason for the fine, the statement of Sera Kadıgil, the İstanbul MP of the Workers’ Party of Turkey (TİP), who said, “The Presidency of Religious Affairs is a political Islamist tool in its current form”, was cited (October 19).

The Ankara 2nd Administrative Court unanimously ruled on October 25, 2022 that the execution of the 3-day blackout imposed on Tele 1 should be suspended (October 25).
