The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) imposed an administrative fine on Tele 1 on the grounds that its broadcast was against the Law no. 6112 on the Establishment of Radio and Television Enterprises and their Media Services. Emre Kongar’s “Islamic terrorism” remarks during “18 Dakika” (18 minutes) program aired on Tele 1 were found “contrary to society’s religious sensitivities” (March 31).
