“Provocation” case against Dağıstanlı from Akit: During the “Manşetlerin Dili” (The Language of Headlines) program on Akit TV, presenter Fatin Dağıstanlı targeted Cumhuriyet newspaper columnist Işık Kansu and Cumhuriyet over his article titled “Şeriat Çalıştayı” (Sharia Workshop), saying, “Let’s go. Let’s come together and throw a bomb in front of Cumhuriyet newspaper.” A lawsuit has been filed against Fatin Dağıstanlı at the Küçükçekmece 5th Criminal Court of First Instance. Facing 6 months to 5 years in prison on charge of “provocation to commit an offense via media”, Dağıstanlı will stand trial on January 14, 2021.
