The Constitutional Court ruled that the sentence given to Bitlis News Editor-in-Chief and Bitlis Journalists Association President Sinan Aygül, based on a news report he made and an expression he used in the report, was a “violation of rights.” The Constitutional Court ruled that Aygül’s freedom of expression was violated and ruled that the file be sent to the Tatvan 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance for a retrial, and that Aygül be paid a fine of 20,000 TL in nonpecuniary damages (July 29).
