On 25 October 2025, journalist Abdurrahman Fırat was physically assaulted by relatives of traffic accident victims while trying to record footage of the accident in the Efeler district of Aydın. He was attacked along with Uğur Eser, Aziz Özden, and Yusuf Konrat, making a total of four journalists targeted during the incident. Fırat was hospitalized by ambulance and later filed a complaint with the Efeler Police Department after obtaining a medical report.
