Journalist Şaban Sevinç was taken from his home in the early morning and brought to the Istanbul Police Department for questioning as part of the investigation into Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. He was asked about his social media posts and whether he had received money from İBB officials, based on claims by a secret witness named “İlke.” Sevinç denied the accusations, and his phone was seized. He was released under a travel ban.
Other journalists questioned as part of the investigation include Soner Yalçın, Ruşen Çakır, Yavuz Oğhan, and Batuhan Çolak. Aslı Aydıntaşbaş was abroad and therefore not questioned.
