Journalist Batuhan Çolak was taken from his home by police in the early morning as part of the investigation into Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. He was brought to the Istanbul Police Department and questioned about social media posts and whether he received money from İBB officials, based on a secret witness named “İlke.” He denied the accusations and was released under a travel ban.
Other journalists questioned as part of the investigation include Soner Yalçın, Şaban Sevinç, Ruşen Çakır, and Yavuz Oğhan. Aslı Aydıntaşbaş was abroad and therefore not questioned.
