The Istanbul 26th High Criminal Court acquitted journalist Zeynep Kuray, who was on trial on the charge of “propagandizing for a terrorist organization” based on her social media posts from 2014 to 2023.
Kuray did not attend the hearing, while her lawyer Batıkan Erkoç requested additional time to respond to the prosecutor’s final opinion seeking conviction. However, after a brief recess, the court announced its acquittal verdict, stating that “the alleged act is not defined as a crime in the law.”
