In 2014, the Ankara 5th Peace Criminal Judgeship issued access ban to five news articles criticizing the chair of Turkish Airlines for employing his relatives and running the company into debt.
Upon the rejections to the objections filed against access block order, journalist Ali kıdık lodged an application to the Constitutional Court. On 26 October 2017, the court found a violation of the freedom of expression of journalist Ali Kıdık and decided 2000 Turkish Liras to be paid to him for the case costs.
