The lawsuit was brought against due to the coverage of prosecution questioning of the detainees, who were taken into custody as part of the investigation launched against the lawyers of Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça, who staged protests to be reinstated to their jobs in September 2017.
The 26th High Criminal Court sentenced Coşkun to 2 years and 3 months of imprisonment for “marking a counterterrorism official as a target” on July 19, 2018. The file will be seen at the court of appeal.
