A columnist for Yeni Şafak, Özlem Albayrak wrote an article criticising the 9 months and 8 months of prison sentence given to Canan Kaftancıoğlu on the grounds of her social media posts. She announced that her newspaper which she had worked for years refused to publish her article and thus she resigned.
