A lawsuit was filed against journalist Hayati Yıldız, who was arrested after being beaten by the police while he was detained on 17 February in Diyarbakır, was charged with “membership in a terrorist organisation” and “violating the Law No. 6136 on Firearms, Knives and Other Instruments”. Yıldız’s lawyers stated that their client has been monitoring by the police and was detained for a false notice. Yıldız was released on probation of 21 years of imprisonment at the 9th High Criminal Court in Diyarbakır (21 September 2017).
