İstanbul Anatolian 8th Criminal Peace Judgeship has issued and access ban to the news entitled “There is illegal [construction] in Bosphorus” (Boğazda kaçak var) on April 17th, three days after the article was published. The article penned by Hazal Ocak revealed the İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s demolition of the construction carried out by Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun on an estate that he has rented in the Zone with View to Bosphorus.
Following to this decision an investigation is launched against journalist Hazal Ocak, photo journalist Vedat Arık, Chief editors Olcay Büyüktaş and İpek Özbey on the ground that Altun’s residential address and photo were used in the news and he was thereby “shown as a target to terrorist organizations.”
