The Instagram account of the LGBTQ+ news portal KaosGL.org, published under the Kaos GL Association, has been blocked from access in Turkey. Previously, the website KaosGL.org and the X (formerly Twitter) account had also been blocked.
Kaos GL’s X account was blocked on June 24, 2025, by a decision of the 9th Criminal Judgeship of Peace in Istanbul, citing “protection of national security and public order.” On 27 June 2025, the 12th Criminal Judgeship of Peace of Istanbul issued another decision blocking access to the KaosGL.org website.
KaosGL.org announced that they would continue to share news through newly opened social media accounts, while also pursuing legal action against the access bans.
