The X (formerly Twitter) account of KaosGL.org, the LGBTI+ news portal affiliated with Kaos GL Association, was blocked in Turkey. The account had 47,500 followers and the access ban came shortly after the İstanbul Trans Pride and the Ankara Pride March. While the platform stated that the restriction was imposed in response to a legal request, KaosGL.org’s Editor-in-Chief Yıldız Tar said they had received no formal notification. Tar stated: “If someone says ‘we didn’t disappear with your bans and we won’t disappear with your draft laws either,’ we add another sentence: we won’t disappear with your censorship either. We are here and we will continue to be here.”
