In Mezeköy village of Aydın’s Köşk district, District Governor Tuğba Polat forbade entries and exits to and from the village for 7 days in order to prevent protests against the works of the geothermal power plant company. Upon the application of the District Governor on August 1 and on the grounds of “violation of personality rights”, the Aydın 1st Criminal Judgeship of Peace imposed an access block on Evrensel’s news report titled “Villagers Still on Vigil Against the Geothermal Power Plant: Village Heads Threatened by the District Governor” dated July 28, 2022 (August 25).
