Upon the application of Enes Kara’s father Mehmet Kara and with the decisions of the İskenderun 2nd Criminal Judgeship of Peace on January 13, 2022 and the Ankara 8th Criminal Judgeship of Peace on January 12, 2022, an access block was imposed on the news reports regarding Elazığ Fırat University Medical Faculty student Enes Kara, who took his life due to the pressure that he faced at the dormitory of a religious community where he was forced to stay by his family and his anxiety about the future. 17 news reports on Enes Kara in total were blocked to access by the related court decisions on the grounds of “violating personal rights”. Among the news websites affected by the access block were BirGün, Cumhuriyet, Halk TV, Tele1, SoL news portal and T24 news website (January 12-13).
