The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) considered the “Cemo” folk song sung by Hilmi Yarayıcı in a program on Halk TV in support of musicians to be “terrorist propaganda”. The RTÜK imposed three administrative fines and three broadcast suspensions on the channel (July 7).
The Ankara Regional Administrative Court has given a decision of stay of execution for the three broadcast suspensions imposed on Halk TV by the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) in July 2021. The file will be examined as to the merits. After a ruling is given as to the merits, it will become clear whether the remaining 2 suspensions will be implemented or not (October 9).
