The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) has imposed an administrative fine of 28,238 Turkish Lira (TRY) on Halk TV over its program “Özlem Gürses ile 20. Saat” (20th Hour with Özlem Gürses) on the grounds of the violation of the Article 8/1-ı of the Law no. 6112, which says, “…the news that can be investigated within the framework of journalistic code of ethics shall not be broadcast without having been investigated and assured of its accuracy…” (February 10).
