On the grounds that Prof. Emre Kongar and Merdan Yanardağ had described İstanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu’s prison sentence as “a coup against people’s will”, the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) imposed a 3-percent administrative fine on Tele 1. The Council imposed another 3-percent fine on the channel due to the Açıkça (Openly) program (December 21).
