Altan is accused of “attempting to influence a fair trial” and “violating the confidentiality of an investigation” due to his article called “Who is out of the Mafia?” published on 2009. The lawsuit is filed upon a complaint by former Sakarya Chief of Police Faruk Ünsal. The court adjourned the trial until 12 November 2019 (June 25)
At the hearing on 12 November, Altan’s lawyer argued that the case should be dropped due to the legislation recently entered in force. the next hearing will be held on December 24.
