BİM Birleşik Mağazaları A.Ş filed a lawsuit against Cumhuriyet newspaper reporter Alican Uludağ, who reported Apple’s warning that “you are selling counterfeit products” for 250 thousand TL of non-pecuniary damages claiming that the its “commercial and personal rights were violated” by Cumhuriyet.

Apple, a US-based technology company, applied to Beyoğlu 34th Notary on May 7, 2018 and asked BİM officials to explain where and how they obtained the products (21 November 2018). The trial will begin on April 30 at the Istanbul Anatolian 9th Civil Court of First Instance (14th February).

The 9th Civil Court of First Instance of İstanbul Anatolia sent the file to the Commercial Court of First Instance of İstanbul Anatolia due to the decision of lack of jurisdiction.
