On April 29, several houses were raided in several cities on the grounds of an Ankara-based investigation. Several people, including Mezopotamia Agency editor Sedat Yılmaz and DFG Co-Chair Dicle Müftüoğlu, were detained during the raids. Yılmaz and Dicle Müftüoğlu were arrested (April 29)

Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office prepared an indictment against the two journalists and 19 people (five of them arrested) involved in the investigation. The prosecutor’s office sent the indictment to Ankara 28th High Criminal Court (July 21).

On December 14, the first hearing of the case was held. Yılmaz, who is being held in Sincan Prison in Ankara, was brought to the hearing at Diyarbakır 4th Assize Court. Yılmaz made his defense and two secret witnesses were heard. The court announced its interim decision and ruled for Yılmaz’s release (December 14).
