After the İstanbul Labor, Peace and Democracy Forces made a statement about the racist attack in Konya in Taksim Tünel Square on July 31, 2021, the group marching to Kasımpaşa was attacked by a group of people. Of the journalists filming the attacks, sendika.org reporters Derya Saadet and Ceylan Bulut, Taylan Öztaş from the Özgür Gelecek, Enes Sezgin and Rojin Altay from the Mezopotamya Agency (MA) and Hayri Tunç from the Gazete Fersude were attacked by the same group. 

Of the battered journalists, Enes Sezgin and Taylan Öztaş were detained (July 31).

Referred to the prosecutor’s office to be arrested, Sezgin and Öztaş were released (August 1).
