According to her Twitter post, on October 2, 2020, journalist Ayşenur Arslan was summoned to give her statement as a “suspect” by the Press Crimes Investigation Bureau of the İstanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. While Arslan was summoned by a written notice sent to her house, she said that she did not know the issue that she was summoned to give a statement about (October 2).
