Press Advertisement Institution (BİK) fined BirGün newspaper for “not citing news sources in some news reports” and Evrensel newspaper due to “titles of news”. The public ads of the dailies were cut for 49 days in total as part of these fines.

The BİK put its executive board decision dated 2019 in force in September 2021 and cut the public ads of BirGün for 22 days in September.

Evrensel newspaper’s right to put public ads has been suspended since 2019 (September 28).
