The Derik Criminal Judgeship of Peace gave a decision of broadcast ban on the news regarding the road accident that claimed the lives of 20 lives in Mardin’s Derik district. The broadcast ban was justitified with “…the aim of [ensuring] public health, national security, public order and public safety and preventing the committal of crimes.” The decision no. 2022/259 of the Derik Criminal Judgeship of Peace dated August 20, 2022 was also published on the website of the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) (August 20).
