The word “Kurdistan”, used everywhere throughout the election campaign of the People’s Alliance (Cumhur İttifakı) by particularly President Erdoğan and the HDP Co-chair Sezai Temelli during the 31 March 2019 Local Elections, became the subject of RTÜK concerning the fines. RTÜK has imposed the broadcast suspension fine only to Tele 1 on the grounds that “this expression is against indivisible integrity of the Turkish Republic”
