On June 8, 2018, D-Smart, a Turkish satellite television provider, decided to suspend TELE1 broadcasting on the grounds that “they did not pay their debts”. While the decision was taken before the June 24, 2018 elections, TELE1 officials state they have restructured their debts, but it was no coincidence that the television was shut down before the elections.
