An investigation was launched against journalist Can Ataklı, the presenter of my TV program “Gün Başlıyor” on TELE 1 TV on the grounds of “insulting the President of the Republic” over his statements about taxes of earthquakes made on the show aired on February 26. Ataklı faces from 1 year 2 months to 4 years and 8 months of imprisonment. Journalist’s trial will begin at the Istanbul Criminal Court of First Instance (26 August).
