Police intervened against the protesters who gathered in front of the İstanbul Branch of the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers of TMMOB upon a call by Taksim Solidarity on the 9th anniversary of the Gezi Resistance.
Five journalists, including the Halk TV reporter Ozan Demiriz, were battered and detained while covering the demonstrations. Demiriz was released after the statement was completed (May 31).
