The relatives of ill prisoners and the prisoners whose release was adjourned gathered in İstanbul’s Kadıköy on December 18, 2022. A police officer slapped former HDP MP and current HDP İstanbul Provincial Co-Chair Ferhat Encü. Filming the moment of slapping, Artı TV camera operator Mehmet Zeki Kaya was detained. During the police intervention, Artı TV reporter Umut Taştan was battered, too. Kaya was released later on (December 18).
