Journalists Canan Coşkun, a reporter for KHK TV Tuğba Demir and documentary filmmaker Kazım Kızıl, who have been in Giresun for some time to report on the activities of the Parliamentary Commission investigating the suspicious death of Rabia Naz Vatan, were taken into custody (November 13).
Canan Coşkun, Tuğba Demir and Kazım Kızıl were referred to the Görele Penal Judgeship of Peace on November 14. The judgeship has ruled that they shall be released with an international travel ban and on the condition that they do not go near the witness’s house. Coşkun was asked about her meeting with Mürsel Küçükal, a witness in the investigation. Coşkun was charged with “blackmailing, threat, causing injury on purpose, insult, and depriving a person of his/her freedom”.
