The families of prisoners wanted to make a press statement at Kartal Square in İstanbul. Not permitting the press statement, police officers moved journalists away from the area by force. They intervened against journalists and took Etkin News Agency (ETHA) reporter Elif Bayburt into custody. Bayburt was taken to the İstanbul Security Directorate at Vatan Avenue. Giving her statement there, Bayburt was later released from detention (September 3).
