Volkan Pekal, a reporter for daily Evrensel, was taken into custody on the grounds that he was “filming without permission” while he was trying to cover the earthquake victims at the Adana City Hospital. Taken to the police station at the hospital, Pekal was released following the formalities there (February 7).
