Gülşen Koçuk, the former editor of the now-shuttered Özgürcücü Demokrasi newspaper, was detained on 17 May 2018 in the Darıca district of Kocaeli on the grounds that there was a warrant of arrest. She was released from the Darıca Courthouse after giving her deposition before the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office through SEGBIS.
