Seven people including Hakkı Boltan, the spokesperson of the Free Journalists Initiative (ÖGİ) and Yeni Yaşam newspaper correspondent and HDP Provincial Organization administrator Abdurrahim Alçiçek were taken into custody on 19 February 2020 during police raids in Diyarbakır on allegations of “propagandising for a terrorist organisation” and “acting on behalf of terrorist organisation”.
Boltan and six others were released by the court under judicial control measures and international travel bans on February 20.
