Stopping a vehicle with Mezopotamya Agency (MA) reporters on board, police officers detained MA reporter Zeynep Durgut in Cizre district in Şırnak province. It was indicated that there was a detention warrant against the journalist as part of the investigation launched into the allegations that Osman Şiban and Servet Turgut had been dropped from a helicopter in Van. Referred to the Van 2nd Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for her arrest on charge of “membership in an organization”, Durgut was asked questions about the news photos from a Free Women’s Movement (TJA) event found in the memory card of her camera. Asked questions about news reporting in some TV channels as well, Durgut has been released with an international travel ban after giving her statement (December 22).
