Zekeriya Gözüpek, the chairman of the now-closed Dicle news agency (DİHA), a pro-Kurdish news agency and journalist Mehmet Ali Ertaş, an editor for DİHA’s Kurdish service were detained in Diyarbakır during a police raid to the houses on 31 May 2017 under suspicion of “participating in a protest action on behalf of the terrorist organization.” They were kept at a detention center for seven days and released after testifying to a prosecutor on June, 6 2017.
