On November 26, 2019, raids were carried out to many addresses including Mesopotamia Agency (MA) reporter Mehmet Fırat Öksüz in Mersin. Many people were detained during the raids. Öksüz, who could not be found at home, was not detained.
Mehmet Fırat Öksüz was taken into custody at the Provincial Security Directorate, where he went to give his deposition regarding his social media posts on 28 November. Öksüz was released after giving his deposition (28 November).
