The police intervened against the press statement to be held by the Ankara Labor and Democracy Forces in front of the Çankaya District Municipality with the slogan, “We cannot make a living”. Several people, including JinNews reporter Öznur Değer, were taken into custody (November 28).
The 11th hearing of the case in which 24 people, including Öznur Değer, who were detained during the “We cannot make a living” protest, were tried on charges of “violating the Law No. 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations” and “resisting to prevent the performance of duty” (Article 265) was held on June 26, 2024 at the Ankara 18th Criminal Court of First Instance. The prosecutor, who gave his opinion, requested the acquittal of Değer and some of the defendants and the punishment of some of the accused on the charges. The hearing was adjourned until July 8 (June 26).
The 12th hearing of the case was held on July 8 at the Ankara 18th Criminal Court of First Instance. Öznur Değer was acquitted (July 8th).
