Upon the call of the Taksim Solidarity, hundreds of people gathered in Beyoğlu on April 26 to protest the convictions in the Gezi trial. During the protests, 12 people, including journalist Umut Taştan, were taken into custody. Detained in rear handcuffs, Taştan was released following his statement at the security directorate (April 26).
