On 23 September 2025, Merdan Yanardağ, Editor-in-Chief of TELE1, was taken to the courthouse by the police due to a subtitle that read “What’s the difference between RTE and Netanyahu?” which appeared on screen for about a minute during the programme “Türkiye’nin Yönü” broadcasted on 21 September 2025. Yanardağ was released under judicial control with an international travel ban and a requirement to sign in regularly.
